Flight Simulator

The biggest attraction is the flight simulator, where you can feel the real-time flight experience. The centre employs state-of-the-art technology to engage visitors and create an immersive experience. Interactive touchscreens, audio-visual presentations, and simulators allow visitors to learn about the IAF’s operations, experience flight simulations, and understand the challenges faced by aircrew and ground personnel.

One of the key attractions at the centre is the collection of vintage aircraft. Visitors can witness first-hand the progression of aviation technology, from early propeller-driven aircraft to modern jet fighters.

The aircraft on display includes iconic planes such as:

1. The Hawker Hunter
2. MiG-21
3. Sukhoi Su-30

These aircraft have played pivotal roles in shaping the IAF’s operational capabilities.

A GNAT aircraft, flown by Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon (PVC Awardee) for the air defence of Kashmir against Pakistani air attacks in 1971, has been installed outside the centre near the traffic light point.

Galleries

Apart from aircraft, The Indian Air Force Heritage Centre also features galleries dedicated to various aspects of the IAF. These galleries provide insights into the different branches and squadrons of the force, showcasing their specialised roles and achievements. Visitors can explore exhibits on radar systems, airborne early warning and control, air defence, air transport, and the diverse roles of the IAF in peacekeeping and humanitarian missions.

Souvenir Shop & Cafe

A souvenir shop is also part of the museum, where you can see the scaled models of the various aircraft. You can visit the theme base cafe inside the museum.
