4. Sports Complex Chandigarh

One of the oldest sports complexes of Chandigarh, Sector 7 sports complex was established in 1960 and is spread across 6 acres of land. Sector 43 Sports Complex Chandigarh
One of the recent additions in the sports arena of Chandigarh is the Sector 43 Sports complex Chandigarh. The complex is the extended part of Govt. Model High School-43 was later taken over by the sports department. The sports complex Manimajra Chandigarh is not yet fully constructed and thus is not open to the public. There is no confirmation from the department regarding its opening date.
Sports Complex Sector 50 Chandigarh
The sports complex Sector 50 Chandigarh is not yet fully operational. The three complexes in Sector 38, 50, and 56 were expected to open soon but due to unknown reasons, these complexes are yet to welcome the students. However, there have been guidelines from the department to allow students from the nearby colleges to use the complex between 9.30 AM to 3.30 PM but there has been no confirmation.
Sports complex Sector 34 Chandigarh
The sports complex of Sector 34 is a part of Govt. Model High School-34. However, it is run and managed by the sports department. It has facilities like Swimming Pool, Table-Tennis, Squash and Badminton. The complex also has an indoor hall where coaching for Judo and Wrestling is provided.
Lake Sports Complex Chandigarh
Established in 1961, it is one of the oldest sports complexes of the Tricity. Initially, it was known as Lake club but later transformed into lake sports complex Chandigarh. It is spread across 10 acres of land and is the hub of various sports. The complex has the infrastructure to play various sports like Table Tennis, Billiards, Archery, Swimming, and Squash. Till now, the complex has hosted various national and international level championships. The latest addition in the complex was made in 2006 with Hi-Tech Gym and kids pool. The talks are on to construct a hall to initiate sports like badminton, basketball, gymnastics and wrestling, but due to some legal hassles, the proposal is still pending.

6. Sector 46 Sports Stadium Chandigarh
Established in 1975, the Sector 46 sports stadium Chandigarh is spread across 4 acres of land with a seating capacity of 500 spectators. This Chandigarh stadium is one of the favorites amongst the youth of the city because of its location and the provisions like volleyball court, basketball court, football court, and grassy athletic track.
The other plus point of Sector 46 sports stadium is that it is equipped with enough floodlights to host night matches. However, to host night matches special permission has to be taken from the authorities. The stadium is accessible to local residents for regular walking and jogging.
